Wei Qi
Children & Youth Services Program Manager
Before calling Chicago home, Wei’s career in education became an adventure. She partnered with the Kentucky Department of Education to design cultural and educational programs. She then spent nine years at a government-funded special education school in South Dakota, where she supported children with trauma, autism and behavioral challenges, helping them build confidence, resilience and life skills through individualized care.
Her passion for education later brought her to China, where she founded an after-school learning center and full-time preschool. She implemented the Renaissance International Online Reading Program, presented at local education events and built partnerships with K-12 schools. After several successful years, she expanded the center into a program offering english, STEM, art and music, earning an outstanding leadership award.
