A knot is one of the oldest symbols of connection. It is formed with intention, strengthened over time and built to last.

When we introduced our new logo last year, centered on the Chinese red knot, it reflected more than a new look. It represents who we are as a community: bound by shared history, guided by wisdom and connected by a red thread of legacy across generations.

This meaning is at the heart of our 2026 Gala, Knots of Wisdom, Threads of Legacy, Leaders of Change.

Legacy Threaded by Destiny

In Chinese tradition, the lucky knot symbolizes longevity and prosperity. Its continuous form reminds us that what we build together endures beyond one moment or generation.

Inspired by the myth of the invisible red thread that connects those destined to meet, our legacy is resilient and unbreakable, even when threads tangle.

Wisdom as a Multigenerational Knot

Wisdom passes through generations intertwining us all. Legacy is created when each generation adds its own knot, strengthening the whole and ensuring that lessons inspire actions and open doors for those who come next.

Leaders of Change: Honoring Linda Yu

This year, we are celebrating journalist and AANHPI advocate Linda Yu with the CASL Lifetime Achievement Award. Through over four decades of storytelling, she has amplified underrepresented voices, preserved community stories, and created lasting change.

By honoring Linda Yu, we recognize the leaders who connect generations, building upon the wisdom of those who came before and inspiring future leaders.

Knots of Wisdom, Threads of Legacy: Leaders of Change reflects our commitment to empowering the shared history, experiences and knowledge that tie our communities together and carry forward the red thread of legacy with intention and care.
