Threads of Change
Every gift is a thread. Together, we weave futures.
The Fabric of Your Impact
With your gift, CASL can continue to be a steady presence for thousands of families. Your gift helps keep programs running and staff supported. It also allows clients and colleagues, like Shuyi and her son Nathan, to continue finding belonging and purpose at CASL.
- $25 could help provide a day of transportation for an older adult participating in our programs.
- $125 could help provide a week of nutritious meals for children in our early learning programs.
- $500 could help provide a month of afterschool enrichment and support for a child.
In a time when public funding is becoming increasingly uncertain, your generosity helps ensure that essential CASL services remain uninterrupted — so our community can continue to count on the support it deserves.

Make Your Gift Go Twice as Far!

Every donation made by Giving Tuesday (December 2) will be matched up to $15,000 by Chicago Oriental Wholesale Market. Don’t miss this chance to make twice the difference!
Chicago Oriental Wholesale Market has been a cornerstone of the Chinatown community for decades, proudly supporting both local businesses and families. Supplying Chicago’s top restaurants and everyday shoppers with fresh, organic produce, meats, and ingredients, COWM plays a vital role in sustaining the neighborhood’s cultural and economic heartbeat. CASL is proud to partner with them as a sponsor of our End of Year Campaign.
Shuyi and Nathan’s CASL Journey
For 15 years, Shuyi He has been a steady, caring presence in CASL’s Adult Day Services program, beloved by clients for the warmth she brings to her work. Her son, Nathan Yuen, grew up in the halls of CASL, watching his mother’s dedication and eventually becoming a youth volunteer himself. Together, their story shows how CASL’s impact weaves across generations. Shuyi and Nathan’s dedication are threads in the same fabric: a community built on belonging, resilience, and love.
When you give, you help make stories like theirs possible for the next generation.
Meet Shuyi He
“Before I joined the staff 15 years ago, I was a client. CASL supported me through one of the most difficult times in my life, helping me stand on my own two feet and build a future for my family. It was through their guidance that I found my passion for supporting older adults’ well-being.
My son, Nathan, grew up alongside CASL. When he was younger, the Education team helped me navigate the American school system and make sure he was set up for success. He used to wait for me in the lobby after school, meeting people from all walks of life. CASL is like his second home. I know that he has a bright future ahead, and I believe CASL helped shape that path, for both of us.”
—Shuyi He, former CASL client and activity supervisor for CASL Adult Day Services
