CASL was proud to participate in this year’s Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade, joining hundreds of community members in welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse. From vibrant dragon dances to the echoes of drums, community pride was on full display, celebrating a powerful day of culture, unity and new beginnings.

This year, CASL community partners, staff and volunteers proudly marched alongside our float, which featured lion dancers and our very own drummer. Our volunteers and staff cheerfully sported red and gold pom poms representing CASL pride, amplifying our services by holding up CASL signs down Wentworth.

At CASL, Lunar New Year is more than a festival — it is a time to honor heritage, gather across generations, and look ahead with hope and determination. For our organization, participating in the parade reflects our ongoing commitment to uplifting and serving AANHPI communities.

Events like this remind us that community power is built not only in meetings and programs, but also in shared joy and cultural celebration.

We are deeply grateful for Chicago Chinatown Community Foundation and Chicago Chinatown Special Events for their continued leadership presenting and organizing community events like these that allow us to amplify our mission.
