On December 16, CASL proudly celebrated Managing Attorney Jenny Huang and Social Benefits and Employment Coordinator Lily Tse, who were honored with the Women of Worth recognition from the City Clerk’s Office. This recognition highlights women who serve their communities with dedication and heart. Jenny and Lily exemplify these values every day through their steadfast service to immigrant families.
Serving with Purpose During Uncertain Times
At a time when immigrant communities across the country are feeling especially vulnerable, Jenny and Lily’s work stands as a powerful reminder of CASL’s unwavering commitment to compassion, dignity, and access to critical resources. Their efforts reinforce CASL’s promise to continue showing up for our community—ensuring individuals and families have the support they need to thrive.
“This recognition belongs to our amazing team and community—we’re grateful to serve and grow together,” said Lily Tse.
Leadership That Makes a Difference
Jenny and Lily were nominated by Lisa Wright, CASL’s Director of Government Affairs and Advocacy, who shared: “I nominated Jenny and Lily in recognition of their steadfast dedication to serving immigrant communities, regardless of the ever-changing political landscape.”
Jenny leads CASL’s legal services work and provides guidance to staff and volunteer attorneys as they navigate some of the most complex and challenging cases. Her leadership ensures that individuals receive high-quality legal consultations and access to representation during crucial moments in their lives.
Lily supports thousands of community members each year by helping them apply for essential social benefits. From providing language support to meticulously reviewing lengthy applications, she ensures clients fully understand eligibility requirements and can successfully complete the process.
“Much of this work happens behind the scenes and without recognition, which is exactly why I wanted to nominate her.” Said Lisa.
The Women of Worth celebration held Tuesday, December 16 honored women making a difference in their communities by giving them a well-deserved evening of recognition and self-care. The event was sponsored by the Cook County City Clerk’s Office.
