The Problem
AAPI communities receive 34 cents of every $100 in foundation funding.* Part of the problem is that aggregated data hides real differences in need. ChangeInSight helps community-based organizations bring those differences into view and act on them.
Across ChangeInSight’s national dataset, the share of people reporting a transportation barrier ranges from 7.5% among Vietnamese respondents to 34.9% among Chin respondents. That’s nearly a fivefold gap that no single “Asian” statistic can show.
When the data gets specific, the response can too. Organizations, funders, and policymakers can better understand where support is needed and act with greater purpose.

What Partners Get
Building data capacity takes infrastructure, staff, and technology that most nonprofits can’t afford on their own. ChangeInSight is a coalition-supported model that gives partners access without the overhead.

Tools
Decision support tools translating disaggregated data—data broken out by community—into action for partners and funders.
- Tableau dashboards with live views into the shared dataset
- Annual reports that pull findings together for partners, funders, and policymakers
- Data digests with shorter updates between reports
- Secure decision-support tool that turns disaggregated data into action
Support
An expert Impact Advisor for each partner to help analyze their data, interpret results, and decide what’s next.
Network
A growing coalition of community-based organizations pooling data, learning from each other’s findings, and building collective power to influence funders and policymakers.

Hanul Family Alliance
From Evidence to a Grant Renewal
Hanul’s data showed a consistent, unmet need for mental health awareness and access among the Korean American seniors it serves. Hanul used that evidence to support its Older Americans Act grant renewal. It also changed how it delivers care: when a housing concern or family conflict comes up during intake, staff now connect the client directly to Hanul’s counseling center.

FAQ
Who can join?
Any U.S.-based 501(c)(3) that serves AAPI communities, regardless of size.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Partnership is free.
What does my organization contribute?
- Survey responses from a sample of the community you serve. The survey covers social drivers of health (SDOH) and includes a pulse survey on the current challenges that your organization faces.
- Time to collect the data. The survey stays open for five months, so you can collect on your own schedule, digitally over time or on paper at a single event.
Who owns our data, and how is it protected?
Your organization owns its data. Everything partners enter sits behind password-protected pages, and the data is stored on secure offline (“cold”) servers. ChangeInSight staff can collect and export data but cannot change what partners submit.
How long does onboarding take?
Once your agreement is signed, your Impact Advisor sets up an onboarding meeting with your staff, walks you through data collection, and covers security, privacy, and safety. You can start collecting as soon as you’re onboarded and begin connecting with other partner organizations right away. You’ll meet with your Impact Advisor quarterly.

No single organization can build this alone. Together, we already have.
ChangeInSight is proof that a coalition can build the data infrastructure AAPI communities need, and it has already turned that proof into city policy. Help us reach every community still missing from the data.
