Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
A donor-advised fund lets you recommend grants to CASL from funds you’ve already set aside for charitable giving. If you have a DAF, you can support our work in Chinatown and greater Chicago in just a few clicks.
What is a DAF?
A DAF is a charitable giving account. You contribute cash, stock, or other assets, take a tax deduction in the year you contribute, and then recommend grants to nonprofits like CASL on your own timeline. Many donors use DAFs to simplify giving, bunch deductions in high-income years, or give appreciated stock without paying capital gains tax.
Recommend a Grant Now:
At checkout, select “Donor-Advised Fund” as your payment method, search for your DAF sponsor, and submit — no separate login required.
Don't see your sponsor listed?
You can still recommend a grant manually:
- Log in to your DAF sponsor’s portal.
- Search for the Chinese American Service League using our EIN: 36-2984043.
- Recommend a grant amount and designate it to our general operating fund, or a specific program — contact donate@casl.org to discuss designation.
- Use our address for the grant check or notification: CASL, 2141 S Tan Court, Chicago, IL 60616.
New to DAFs?
If you don’t have one yet, you can open one through most major financial institutions or community foundations, often with no minimum or a low minimum contribution. Once funded, you can use the tool above to recommend grants to CASL.
