As the holiday season arrives, we’re reminded of the importance of slowing down, reflecting, and appreciating the people and moments that bring meaning to our lives. At CASL, Thanksgiving is more than a date on the calendar — it’s a chance to celebrate our community, honor our shared cultures, and give thanks for the connections that make us who we are.

Every day, our community inspires us. From families and children who walk through our doors, to clients pursuing new opportunities, to staff members dedicated to lifting others up — CASL thrives because people believe in our mission and in one another.

The Heart of Thanksgiving: Food, Culture, and Connection

As we reflect on the spirit of Thanksgiving, we know food plays a central role in bringing people together. Food is nourishment, but it’s also something much deeper — it is culture, tradition, story, and love.

CASL’s Food and Nutrition team works tirelessly every day to ensure that clients of all ages receive meals that aren’t just nutritious, but culturally familiar and meaningful. They create social environments where clients can gather, connect, and bond over shared food experiences. These meals unite us, celebrate our differences, and remind us that community is built one shared moment at a time.

This year, we are especially grateful for:

  • The meals we share

  • The staff who prepare them with care

  • The clients who bring our mission to life

  • The supporters, donors, and partners who make our work possible

Voices of Gratitude from Our CASL Family

At CASL, gratitude is personal — and it means something different to each of us. Here’s what some of our staff shared when asked what they’re thankful for this year:

“I’m thankful for our community and the families and children who come to CASL every day.”

“I’m thankful for my Citizenship and Immigration, Welcome Center, and Adult Education teams.”

“I’m thankful for family, especially our CASL family.”

“I’m thankful for all the CASL staff, stakeholders, and donors who make us a mission-driven organization.”

These reflections remind us why CASL exists — to serve, uplift, and empower our community through compassion, care, and shared purpose.

Warm Thanksgiving Wishes

No matter what you’re thankful for this year, we hope this season brings you joy, warmth, and connection. From everyone at CASL:

Happy Thanksgiving!
