Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, CASL is sharing an opportunity to support youth through one-on-one mentorship.
Making a Difference Through Connection
Big Brothers Big Sisters helps youth build confidence, resilience and strong relationships through consistent one-on-one mentorship. As a trusted community partner, CASL is proud to highlight this volunteer opportunity for individuals interested in making a long-term, positive impact in a young person’s life.
Becoming a “Big”
Bigs are adult volunteers who build supportive, one-on-one relationships with youth by showing up as positive role models.
As a Big Brother or Big Sister, you will:
- Be matched with a child or youth based on shared interests
- Spend time together regularly through shared activities
- Build encouragement, consistency and positive mentorship over time
Location and Requirements
CASL will host this volunteer opportunity at our building on 2141 S. Tan Ct., Chicago, IL, 60616. All volunteers will need to arrange their own transportation. A full list of volunteer requirements can be found in the application link below.

Mentorship Makes a Lasting Difference
In this video, meet Big Joanna and Little Gabbie—a mentor‑mentee match that highlights how CASL creates safe, supportive spaces for youth to learn, grow, and build confidence. Through guided activities, cultural connection, and consistent relationships, CASL’s site‑based program helps young people thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

“Watching my mentee grow into a confident young man and go on to earn a full scholarship to Stanford made every session worth it. Being a mentor isn’t just about giving guidance — you form a real bond, and you get just as much out of it as your little does.”
